Jason Momoa spends as much time as possible outdoors, and he has a Schutt Industries XVENTURE XV-2 trailer for when he ventures truly off-grid. He wanted to take things up another notch to explore EV offroad – “to see how long we can stay out, if we can charge, make a power station”.

Electrogenic built a 93kWh battery into the floor of the XVENTURE trailer. It can charge up on CCS super-fast (rapid) charging at a rate of 50kW. It outputs 3.3kW of 240V and 110V AC, and also 12V DC.

The battery enclosure and raised trailer bed are made of structural composite for lightness and heat insulation. Fitting the battery into the trailer bed (rather than underneath) ensures it does not interfere the XVENTURE water tank that is fitted under the trailer. The trailer retains its full functionality (including a kitchen and shower) and has amazing off-road capability.

As specified, the system enables you to charge an EV at 3.3kW and/or run your camp for a month. It is possible to fit a system that will charge your EV at rates of up to 40kW, by special request.
